The deepwater Rosebank oil field lies in the Faroe-Shetland Channel, 15 kilometres from the UK/Faroese median line and 125 kilometres west of the Shetland Islands.In August 2022, operator Equinor submitted the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for Rosebank and in September 2023 regulatory approvals were granted and a final investment decision (FID) was taken by the project partners.
