Miran is a large undeveloped gas field located in the southern part of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), approximately 70 kilometres east of Kirkuk.The field was originally discovered by Heritage Oil in 2009, with Genel Energy assuming full operatorship in 2012 following its acquisition of Heritage's stake.
