Cossack-Wanaea-Lambert-Hermes is a FPSO oil development, linked to the North West Shelf Project. It is also referred to as the North West Shelf Oil Project, and is Australia's second most valuable oil asset after the Bass Strait. Production from the fields began in November 1995, and reached the Cossack Pioneer FPSO's design capacity quickly. Towards the end of the decade the FPSO was plagued by problems with gas handling, hampering production. The FPSO was upgraded in 1998 to help lift production back up to the design capacity. Due to recurring issues, it was replaced with the refurbished Okha FPSO in 2011.
