On 4 February, President Trump reinstated his policy of “maximum pressure” on Iran to reduce its oil exports to zero. The goal is to throttle Iran’s nuclear program by eliminating the revenue the regime earns through sales of oil. As part of this pressure campaign, President Trump announced new sanctions.
