Operated by Qinghai CITIC Guoan Lithium Industry Development Co Ltd, West Taijinaier 2 is a lithium brine operation located in Qinghai, China. West Taijinaier Salt Lake is a magnesium sulphate sub-type salt lake with a low lithium concentration and high Mg/Li ratio. CITIC Guoan utilises calcination technology to produce technical-grade lithium carbonate. The company has plans to increase its output through the construction of a new 20ktpy lithium carbonate plant.
