In May 2012 Jien Canada acquired Goldbrook Ventures and became sole owner of the project. The company was still aiming for a late 2012 start-up despite having to change the location of the port site under construction due to unsuitable ground conditions. In order to change the location the company needed the Quebec government to modify a permit as well as re-apply for a federal permit to dump 35,000m³ of dredged material offshore.
