Hemi Project is a large-scale gold open pit mine in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. It is a new intrusion-hosted form of gold mineralization with a series of intrusions associated with stringer and disseminated sulphide-rich zones. The mining method is open-cut with conventional excavator and truck fleets. In total, 122Mt ore will be mined and sent to comminution and carbon in leach (CIL) gold circuit that includes flotation and pressure oxidation to produce 6.4Moz of gold over a 12-year mine life. The average annual gold production for the first 10 years is around 530koz/a.
