Ian is a Director in Wood Mackenzie’s consulting division, bringing 15 years of experience throughout the energy value chain.
Since joining Wood Mackenzie in 2022, Ian has worked on a wide range of high-profile projects with clients in upstream, refining & biofuels, oil & product storage, and transportation. This has included government advisory, strategy development, feedstock and product market analysis, feasibility studies, and competitiveness and opportunity screening.
His clients have included NOCs, IOCs, ministries, financial institutions, trading houses and service and technology providers.
Prior to joining Wood Mackenzie, Ian was responsible for business planning and performance management at Saudi Aramco before working in geopolitical risk advisory. Having spent 10 years in energy market intelligence, Ian is a prominent voice on the energy sector in Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia and is regularly featured in leading industry publications.
